Holiday Gift Ideas

November 24th, 2009 by

It may only be November, but the stores are already filled with lights, trees, snowflakes, and other holiday paraphernalia. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, or any other winter holiday, you are probably already planning gifts for your family, friends, and loved ones. If you are on a budget-and who isn’t, in this economy-the holidays take extra special planning.

A bag of freshly roasted gourmet coffee makes a great gift! Just think… how many other gifts can you choose that will make your loved one think warm thoughts about you every morning, like they will as they enjoy a hot, fresh cup of coffee?
Gifts from Coffee Bean Direct are especially great for your friends and family who live too far away for you to see in person over the holidays. Your gift of coffee will be delivered straight to their door and will even include a personalized card so you can let them know how much they mean to you.

Deciding on a variety of coffee can be very difficult-we have so many options!!-so I have created a list of coffees we recommend based on the type of coffee your friend prefers. To create this list I worked with our Roast Master, Al, and the Customer Service Team; they talk to our customers all day and really know what customers love. I hope it helps!

Our #1 pick. Without a doubt, our most popular coffee is Colombian Supremo. If you have no idea what type of coffee your friends and family members drink, Supremo is your best gift choice. It is perfect for coffee “newbies” but is also great for veteran coffee “elitists.”

Light to Medium Roast. Our Roast Master recommends our spicy Guatemalan and our balanced Costa Rican Tarrazu for anyone who likes light roasted coffee. If your friend prefers slightly darker coffees try the exotic City Roast Papua New Guinea or the City Roast Colombian Supremo which has slightly more body then the regular Colombian Supremo.

Dark Roast and Espresso. The Customer Service Team tells me that our Italian Roast Espresso is not only our most popular dark roast coffee, but also one of our most popular coffees in general. This affordable blend can be enjoyed either as espresso or as regular coffee. If you are looking to spend a few dollars more, our Six Bean Espresso is a custom blend of dark roasts intended specifically for espresso lovers.

If you are concerned these coffees might be a little too dark for your friend’s taste, our French Roast and Medium Roast Espresso are great alternatives.

Flavored Coffee. Hazelnut and French Vanilla are safe choices if you are unsure what flavors of coffee your friends and family members prefer; they are our most popular flavors. Our Chocolate flavor is another option that I believe anyone can enjoy. If you are looking for something a little more unusual or daring try the Sinful Delight (chocolate, hazelnut, and caramel) or Jamaican Me Crazy (coffee liqueur, vanilla, and caramel). Many of our customers are already addicted to these “uncommonly good” coffees!

Decaffeinated Coffee. Decaf Colombian and Decaf French Roast are our most popular and most affordable decafs. For the more adventurous coffee drinker try the smooth Decaf Dark Sumatra or the 100% naturally-decaffeinated CO2 Decaf Colombian. The Carbon Dioxide process was developed in Germany and it is the only place in the world where this natural alternative is used. All CO2 Decaf coffees go to Germany before coming into the United States. For the flavored coffee–lover on your list, try our Decaf Vermont Maple Crunch.

Organic and Fair Trade Coffee (OFT). Buying organic and fair trade products is very important to many people. Our OFT Dark Sumatra Gayoland coffee (also available as a City Roast) has been a huge hit with our customers. We also recommend the immensely popular OFT Guatemalan HB Huehuetenango and the unique OFT Dark Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

Premium Coffee. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and perhaps you have a certain someone you want to splurge on! Hawaiian Kona Fancy has been recognized as one of the best and most sought after varieties of coffee in the world. Its name has become synonymous with quality. Your loved one’s eyes will light up when he or she opens the box and sees a bag of Hawaiian Kona… and that’s before they get to smell or taste this amazingly smooth and naturally sweet coffee. If you are shopping on a budget but still want to get your friend a delicious bag of premium coffee try the Mocha Java. This customer-approved blend of Estate Java and Yemen Mocha Mattari is an extremely flavorful gourmet coffee but costs about $100 less than the Hawaiian Kona Fancy for a 5 lb. bag.

I hope my recommendations help you in your holiday gift hunting. If you have any specific questions please feel free to post them. We want to help you find that perfect gift for each of your loved ones.
